After the great success of the very first tour of the Costa Rican Bird Route held in February 2008, Rainforest Biodiversity Group is leading another group of individuals to the Bird Route in November.
The November 2-9 trip will visit six of the 13 sites of the Costa Rican Bird Route, three of which are new private reserves. At these new reserves, participants will have the opportunity to meet the local landowner and hear about their conservation efforts. The group will also be visiting the world famous La Selva Biological Station, administered by Organization for Tropical Studies. Here participants will have the chance to explore the La Selva reserve as well as learn about the interesting research being conducted.
While the tour will focus on seeing lots of great birds including the Great Green Macaw, there will also be ample opportunity to see and learn about other flora and fauna of the rainforest in Costa Rica.
The itinerary includes something for everyone, including an action packed white-water rafting trip down the Sarapiqui River! To view the complete itinerary, click here.
The cost of the tour is $1100 and this includes all lodging; all meals; all activities except for the optional white water rafting trip which is an additional $45 per person; all ground transportation including transfers to and from the airport; professional guide services; and a $200 donation to the Rainforest Biodiversity Group to support the organization’s conservation efforts in Costa Rica. This DOES NOT include air fare, airport tax, gratuities, alcoholic beverages; travel insurance; laundry; telephone calls; snacks; items of a personal nature; excess baggage charges.
There are still two spaces left on the tour. If you are interested in going on this tour, or planning your own trip, please contact Holly Robertson at holly@rainforestbiodiversity.org.
